R2's Revamps

This blog's meant for my 'revamping' works; I like redoing my old art once in a while (and if I can get permission, other people's artworks too)

Hi. I'm an idiot who likes to try things.
I like listening to music & singing. I listen to a lot of rock bands.

Oh and I also draw.

Found this old drawing of vases full of gel bubbles & fake plants I did 4 years ago on one of my REALLY OLD sketchbooks. Probably drew this right after going to the local souvenirs store where there's lots of these colorful hydroinflatable gel bubbles on display, along with stones & flower petals. There were no dolls inside them but just to make the drawing less empty, I added them. The two dolls in the vases resemble Stephanie from LazyTown and my character Seattle. And that was about it.

DIGITIZE.

First step: correcting the lineart. Align & make the vases' top & bases look straight. Then, make another layer and draw the lineart of the stuff inside the glass vases.

Second step: the coloring. I fail so hard at making the colors look realistic when it comes to transparent gel bubbles. Then again the fake leaves & flower petals were quite ok.

And so were the dolls. But since they're inside & surrounded by the bubbles the shading needs to be of the same hue as said bubbles.

Add the finishing touch to the glass vases by drawing some light reflection and it's done.
